Standards Alignment

Standards Alignment in The Last Readers

Through a series of missions or chapters, students are trained to carefully analyze discovered “documents,” including real-world texts and passages from the world of The Last Readers. Students extract meaning from these texts and create new content that inspires the human population to rediscover the power of reading.

Implementation Suggestions

The most popular implementation is to have students work on the program two to three times per week for 20–30 minutes at a time. Some teachers assign the program one day a week for 45 minutes, while others assign it every day for 15 minutes. The way you choose to use the program with your students is up to you!

Because students work on the program independently and at their own pace, you are free to use this time to pull individual students or small groups aside for personalized instruction, conferences, etc. Or, if the whole class is working on the program independently, you can monitor student progress and provide support for students who raise their hand.

Note: On average, each chapter of The Last Readers takes students roughly one hour to complete.
